About Me

Welcome! I wanted to create a space where I could share recipes, nutrition tips, and photos of delicious food, so I decided to start this blog.

As a Mad Dogg certified spin instructor and a former college athlete, fitness has always been a major part of my life. More recently, I developed an even deeper passion for living a healthy and balanced lifestyle. When I moved to Los Angeles in August 2015 for a new job, I became an avid runner during my free time – completing several half marathons and beginning training for my first marathon (I have since run five half and four full marathons.). In addition to working full time, I began taking online courses from San Diego State University toward a certificate in Nutrition for Optimal Health, Wellness, and Sports. By year’s end, I realized that my interests were shifting from working in athletic communications to pursuing a career in a health-related field. After working in college athletics for four years, I left my job at UCLA in January 2017 to begin taking courses in nutrition, physiology, and organic chemistry.

Recently accepted into the Friedman School of Nutrition Science and Policy at Tufts University, I plan to pursue a master’s degree in Agriculture, Food, and Environment starting this fall.

In addition to cooking and eating, I enjoy all things outdoors, farmers’ markets, kombucha, hot yoga, and a good book. While I recently dabbled in triathlons, my heart belongs to running.

The recipes I post are either created by yours truly or adapted from my favorite cookbooks, websites, or blogs. I hope you enjoy them as much as I do!
