I realize it’s only August, so all things fall are probably not on your radar, let alone in the vicinity of it. However, I was in Target the other day picking up toothpaste and deodorant and the tank top section happened to catch my eye.
Ladies, this is not a drill – Halloween- and fall-themed muscle tanks are officially in stores!
So of course I bought some. It’s a rare occasion when you walk into Target needing two things and actually leave with only those two things. But I digress…
Is it premature to be longing for seasonal beverages, crunchy leaves, leather boots, and warm, cozy sweaters? Probably yes. But my newly acquired tanks have me feeling all kinds of festive. Plus, living in Arizona doesn’t afford much of an opportunity to fully enjoy the aforementioned fall favorites anyway.
I love pumpkin spice as much as any female, but I’m not a huge fan of all the added sugars, chemicals, and calories that go into Starbucks’ signature drink. As such, I’ve learned to improvise.
Because it’s still a sweltering 110° in Arizona right now, I decided to experiment with the PSL concept while also embracing summer. The result? A Pumpkin Spice Latte smoothie bowl. And ohhh how delicious it is!
So without further ado, here is my remedy for those eagerly awaiting pumpkin spice season while enduring three more weeks of summer…
If you make my healthy and filling twist on this fall favorite, I’d love to know about it! Tag @theplantbasedpalate in a photo on Instagram, or leave a comment below!
